Hello! I’m Vincent Vendell. I was born and raised in Anguilla, MS, and my high school Alma Mater is Tri-Cities High School of East Point, GA, where I graduated from the VPA Magnet Drama Department.
I am an Actor, Director, Producer, Art Administration Professional, and a passionate Chef with deep roots in Southern cooking. My culinary journey began at home in the Mississippi Delta, where I learned the art of soulful cooking from my family. Over the years, I’ve embraced the fusion of storytelling and cooking through my platform In the Kitchen with Vincent, where I share my love for Southern dishes and their cultural significance. In 2023, I began working on my cookbook, Food From the Soul: The Guidebook to Mississippi Delta Dining, which highlights my modern takes on classic Delta recipes passed down through generations.
I graduated in 2020 from the University of Michigan Acting Program and earned my Master of Science in Leadership for Creative Enterprises from Northwestern University in 2021. Along with my academic achievements, I have accrued nearly six years of professional experience. While working for Broadway Dreams Foundation in a Production Assistant and Coordinator role, I gained skills in operations management, project planning, social media development, and back-office operations. I also served as a Junior Advisory Board member and Co-Chair from May 2022.
As an Associate Artist at Tipping Point Theatre in Northville, MI, I directed The Mountaintop by Katori Hall, the theatre's first all-POC production, as well as God Kinda Looks Like Tupac by Emilio Rodriguez, which went on to win two Enore Michigan Wilde Awards for Best Play and Best New Script.
Previously, I served as the Assistant Director of Campus Resources and Major Events at the University of Michigan, where I streamlined event planning processes, developed partnerships, and supported a dynamic team responsible for overseeing major events and student organization resources.
As an artist, chef, and storyteller, I’m grateful for every opportunity to share pieces of the African American experience and believe in the power of art and food to heal. I’m proud to have been featured on several social media platforms, television segments, and events, where I continue to share my culinary and artistic journey with others. My goal is to inspire people to connect through culture, community, and creativity.
