Hello! I’m Vincent Vendell. I was born and raised in Anguilla, MS. My high school Alma Mater is the Tri-Cities High School of East Point, GA. I graduated from Tri-Cities’ VPA Magnet Drama Department.
I am an Actor, Director, Producer, and Art Administration Professional.
In 2020 became an alumnus of the University of Michigan Acting Program. In the Fall of 2021, I received my Master of Science in Leadership for Creative Enterprises from Northwestern University. During my academic career, I also managed to accrue nearly 6 years of professional work experience. I had the privilege of working for the Broadway Dreams Foundation in a Production Assistant and Coordinator role in my free time. While working for Broadway Dreams I learned valuable professional skills such as operations management, project planning, social media development, and back-office operations. For over a year I have served as a Junior Advisory Board member for the organization, and I was named Co-Chair in May 2022.
I previously served as an Associate Artist at Tipping Theatre Company in Northville, MI. While working for Tipping Point I directed The Mountaintop by Katori Hall which was the theatre's first all-POC production and rehearsal room. I was also able to direct God Kinda Looks Like Tupac by Emilio Rodriguez at TheatreNOVA during my tenure at Tipping Point. In 2022 God Kinda Looks Like Tupac won two Enore Michigan Wilde Awards. The production won Best Play in the Drama Category, and Best New Script.
Currently, I serve as the Assistant Director of Campus Resources and Major Events in the Center of Campus Involvement at The University of Michigan. At U-M, I have streamlined major event planning processes in service to students and the community; developed thoughtful partnerships with many internal and external organizations; offered my expertise in strengthening resources for arts-based student organizations; supported a dynamic team responsible for Major Events, Michigan Union Ticket Office, Student Theatre Arts Complex, and Student Organization Resource Center
As an Artist, I am always thrilled to share pieces of the African American experience and grateful for every opportunity to share stories of color. I am a believer that our art heals, and the best way to get on one accord is to learn from each other’s experiences.
